Rev. Keith Norton ordained Rev. Lisa Argo.
My friend, Jon Pickell, invited me to join him at church one Sunday. He said it reminded him of the church in the movie The Rocky Horror Picture Show, so I knew I had to see it! The church I mean.
I had seen the movie.
Rev. Ken was speaking that first Sunday. He said he had a sermon picked out for that day, but Spirit told him to change it. It was as if he was speaking directly to me. Explaining to me my gifts and my life. Here were people who understood me. I knew right then and there that there was something at this church for me.
I had been tossing the idea around. A number of people throughout my life had asked me when I was going to answer the Calling, and I would always brush it off. The ministers at CoE continued that question. One Sunday at church, Rev. Barbara announced it and made me acknowledge that it was time. That was that.
I see it first and foremost to support my senior minister, the other ministers, and their guidance for the church and its mission statement. I also see it as a way to spread the word of God and his gifts for us.
To have their backs in their missions for our church and its goals. Whatever they need: rides, copies, an ear, an idea, having the church ready for any service or event.
I love listening to my fellow congregants and what they got out of the sermon or service and being there for them. I love sharing information and I think that’s why I’m Public Relations Director. Do you want to know something? Ask me.
