Rev. Gina Hampton
Rev. Gina is our most recent ordinated minister. She is a second-generation CoE minister and is happy to be serving here.
What brought you to CoE?
My friend Sissy and I were looking for a spiritualist church. We went to a different church and then one of Sissy's friends suggested we go to CoE. I felt right at home. I called my mom and she asked me to see if Rev Ken was one of the ministers. I never left.
What led you to want to be a minister?
I had a message at Sunday Service at CoE and Spirit suggested exploring the Ministry Path. I remember thinking “No way, I can’t be a Minister; I don’t know anything about the bible or even how to pray out loud”. After being in the church for a while and getting to know everyone, I was given a message from Rev. Terry Ryan about being a Minister. I decided that Sunday to start taking classes and expressed that to Rev. Terry Ryan and the ministers. I love to help people and through my sermons I can do just that.
How was your ordination journey?
Educational, fun and a long journey - well worth it! I enjoyed getting to know all the people in church and all the Ministers.
Who’s your greatest supporter?
I’m very grateful for my family, friends and the Ministers at church, everyone is a great supporter. I have to say my mom is my greatest supporter. She always has words of encouragement and advice.
What is your main goal of your ministry?
To be uplifting and helpful to everyone, to be there for others when needed.
